VoteSee checks every stock trade members of Congress disclose under the STOCK Act against their official work, and ranks members by the trades worth a look.
Three Flags
Committee: the trade is in an industry a committee the member sits on oversees, such as Armed Services and defense contractors or Financial Services and banks.
Related vote: the member voted on a bill in that industry's policy area within 30 days before or after the trade.
Late filing: the trade was filed more than 45 days after it happened, past the STOCK Act deadline.
Read the Flags Fairly
A flag is not an accusation. Many trades are placed by financial advisers or by a spouse. Index funds, broad ETFs, Treasuries and municipal bonds are excluded from the committee and vote checks. Each member's page shows the evidence behind every flag on the Stocks tab.
